Pressure Driven Membrane Processes

A3 supplies plants and equipment that apply membrane technology to water and wastewater treatment processes. Our products include:

Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) - Plate Microfiltration (MF) Membranes
  1. Design and supply of complete new MBR wastewater treatment plants using both modular container construction  for small municipal and industrial applications, and large scale wastewater treatment plants
  2. Design and supply of equipment to optimize existing treatment facilities to increase capacity and improve effluent quality

Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF) & Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants
  1. Design and supply of equipment & plants for treating highly contaminated effluents from industries including textile, food and chemical manufacturers with integrated recycle streams, landfill leachate treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants, and desalination plants
The primary role of a membrane is to act as a selective barrier to eliminate fine particles up to dissolved matter from water or wastewater.

Pressure-driven membranes as supplied by A3 are classified in two general categories:
  • Porous membranes (UF & MF)
  • Nonporous or “dense” membranes (NF & RO)
The separation properties for MF and UF membranes are solely based on pore size. NF and RO membrane performance relies on solution diffusion processes. NF performance is also dependent upon charge effects.
